To go to the amazing waterfalls we're going to
leave Las Hadas after a light and healthy breakfast early in the
morning and take a ride on the pick-up to San Martin, a small village
already in the mountains. We pass San Martin and approximately 3
Miles past San Martin leave the car. A guide with a donkey will
be waiting for us and will carry our backpacks and the food for
lunch. We're going to walk a little bit more than an hour - pass
meadows with cows and donkeys, get into the jungle with lush vegetation,
pass a deserted rancho and reach the "rio" - the small river. We'll
walk and climb along the banks of the river (need good shoes to
hike on stones and rocks and it's important to be really in good
health conditions as parts of the walk are medium difficult!).
After approximately 70 minutes we reach the
waterfall - a waterfall with a big natural pool around and option
to swim, some shade to relax and we're going to spend the full day
there. Around noon we're going to prepare a nice and healthy lunch
for you with lots of fruit, local cheese, local sausage, home-baked
bread, tortillas and much more and we're going to have lunch on
the site.
We spend the early afternoon swimming and relaxing
in crystal clear water before leaving the site at approximately
3.30 pm. We'll hike back to the car and will return to Las Hadas
around 5.30pm. That night you'll be sleeping "like a baby" as you'll
feel the hikes and swimming in your bones and in your body. This
is a gorgeous full day excursion - mixture of activity, nature,
joy, relaxation and fun!
